Cygnus Investment Advisors is an investment firm authorised by the Central Bank of Ireland which specialises in providing independent investment advice to institutions (notably credit unions) and to private clients.
The investment firm’s approach and philosophy is primarily based on the experience of its Principal and Managing Director Padraig O’Sullivan, who
- has over 30 years’ experience in investment markets and
- has been advising credit unions for almost 15 years.
Gandon Securities
Padraig O’Sullivan has been involved in financial markets since 1988 when he joined Gandon Securities as a trainee dealer
In Gandon he traded in
- foreign exchange,
- equities and
- bond markets
before becoming a Director and Head of Systematic Trading in 1993.
He continued in that role after the firm was purchased by IIU Asset Strategies in 1996.
Hibernian Investment Managers
In 1998 he joined Hibernian Investment Managers as a Senior Fixed Income Fund Manager.
Druid Futures Ltd. (now GlobalReach Securities Ltd)
In 1999 he left Hibernian to set up Druid Futures Ltd. (now GlobalReach Securities Ltd) where the firm managed funds on behalf of an Irish and international client base.
GlobalReach began advising credit unions in 2006, and as Head of the Credit Union Advisory Division Padraig was instrumental in growing the client base to 50 credit unions with total investments of almost €2bn.

He left GlobalReach in December 2014 to set up his own company – Skevanish Ltd, trading as Cygnus Investment Advisors.
